Summary/Abstract: Part of non-verbal communication are gestures that convey the whole meaning of the content during conversations. However, growing online activity of young people, spending most of the time in front of a computer monitor and communicating with peers largely through communicators has led to image dominance and marginalization of the word. This makes the spoken word, including gestures and facial expressions, an unknown means of communication. What is interesting, then, is how does a generation of gestures immersed in the media read? Whether they know and can call their gestures. The article is an attempt to answer this question. The tests were carried out by means of a diagnostic survey based on a specially constructed test questionnaire among 350 students aged 13–16 years. The results obtained are encouraging.
