Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to try to answer the question of how digitization influences the benefits and risks of export as a mode of foreign expansion, using the example of Polish IT exporters. The research shows that although the main export products in the Polish IT sector are intangible, the behaviour of enterprises are characterized by a „traditional” approach to international expansion. Digitization is considered to build a better relationship with the customer, but not new opportunities in the field of internationalization.
