Summary/Abstract: RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The aim of this article is to reveal the role of Internet platform in the process of internationalization of enterprises classified as sharing economy, which is identified as stimulated by digitization direct access and exchange of unused and potential resources. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The main problem of the research is the analysis of internationalization in the context of sharing economy. The study used the analysis of source texts and descriptive method. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The study focused on identifying: the causes of the development of sharing economy, the key role of digital platforms in the activities of enterprises in the sharing economy and importance of platforms in the process of internationalization. RESEARCH RESULTS: The research shows that the digitization of business and it’s environment creates good conditions for the development of sharing economy, in which operate small as large companies, as well as reduces barriers of entry into international markets using web platforms. These improves the functioning of the traditional economy and enrich it by new forms related to the internationalization. In the case of transnational corporations this means copying projects implemented so far on their own market or including newest business offers (start-ups) operating all over the world, into their value chains. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: Issues considered do not exhaust the plethora of problems associated with. It is a contribution to the discussion on the conditions, characteristics and directions of development of companies in sharing economy, especially in terms of dissemination of this relatively new phenomenon (lack of theoretical and empirical research). At the same time it is worth of examining whether the change in relations with business partners as a result of international expansion may lead the companies engaged in sharing economy so far to activities outside the typical sharing economy.
