Summary/Abstract: The article is the result of observing the French press during the summer months of 2017 in terms of the presence of subjects related to public sphere. The authors assumed, that printed media themselves, as well as other media, constitute a public sphere, which is a platform for meeting and exchanging different views. On the other hand, the press is a reflection of this debate in the social space in which public opinion is created. It is important, that in media, there are subjects concerning various – in the geographical (territorial) sense – public spheres, which enable individuals and groups to exist. Sometimes these spheres facilitate or enrich people’s lives, and sometimes they become unfriendly or even threatening to them. For the analysis, the authors chose the regional and national daily newspapers and the most important opinion weeklies. The problems, presented in the article, are case studies illustrating (in the empirical sense) the media representation of the public sphere.
