Summary/Abstract: A person who works as a firefighter is exposed to heat factors in the form of, e.g. flame or hot objects and surfaces associated with the hot work environment. As a result of the combination of protective clothing and physical effort, the unfavorable hydrothermal condition under clothing, causing the thermal discomfort, is formed in the hot work microclimate. Improving comfort and safety of firefighters can be obtained through properly selected underwear inner clothing with the aim of making it from materials supporting the removal of liquid, water vapour and heat. Therefore, for the professional group of firefighters it is necessary to limit the accumulation of heat.In order to obtain information about the inner clothing and underwear the most often used under protective clothing and recognize preferences and expectations in this area, the survey research were carried out among the firefighters who are exposed to heat factors during fire-fighting activities.
