Summary/Abstract: The study analyzes the factors affecting the production, dissemination and consumption of radio and television programs for children's audience. Particular attention is paid to historical circumstances shaping the basic legislative prerequisites of functioning and conditions which create specific genres of children's programs for children's audience in Slovakia and abroad (folktale, news programs, entertainment and quiz shows, eduactional programs).
