Suburbanisation and social issues. The case of Dobra commune (gmina) in the West Pomeranian voivoideship

Summary/Abstract: The goal of the article is to characterise the most typical social issues of the communes experiencing suburbanisation. Based on the results of the research titled Diagnoza problemów społecznych w Gminie Dobra (A diagnosis of the social issues in Dobra commune), conducted in 2015, the authors identified the most significant phenomena which can be considered social issues in the commune. As the “old social issues”, the authors identify the dysfunctions which have existed before the influx from migration, contributed to and experienced by the “inveterate” denizens of the commune. The “new” issues appear in places experiencing a rapid population increase and spatial transformations resulting from the specific situation of the suburbanisation.
