Short Description

Przegląd Zachodniopomorski is a quarterly published in Szczecin since 1963, Poland. Its predecessor was a monthly (later bi-monthly) journal Szczecin, appearing since 1957. The first editor in chief of the Przegląd Zachodniopomorski was Professor Henryk Lesiński (1962-1985), followed in 1985 by prof. Tadeusz Białecki. The quarterly publishes articles dealing with history, demography, economy, political science, sociology, and Polish-German relations having impact of Polish West Pomerania and the adjacent areas. The Przegląd Zachodniopomorski consists of five permanent parts: Articles, Materials, Reviews, Overview Papers, and Reminiscences. Its contribution to science cannot be underestimated. It has published hundreds of papers focusing not only on the history of the Polish West Pomerania but also on its present times. Among the published output of the quarterly were also numerous single-subject special issues: historical, economical, or sociological. A number of such issues were also devoted to contemporary socio-economic problems and the history of smaller administrative units (Stargard Szczeciński, Kamień Pomorski, Gryfice, Kołobrzeg) and also to some major industrial complexes. Special issues covered also proceedings of scientific conferences as well as distinguished local scientists.
