Summary/Abstract: The aim of the research project was to examine differences between a group of women declaring to be engaged in autoerotic activities and a group of women who did not engage in such activities. While comparing the two, aspects such as quality of life, overall and body image self-esteem and sexual satisfaction have been taken into consideration. The study group consisted of 50 women declaring autoerotic activity and 50 women declaring abstinence in this regard. In order to verify the formulated hypotheses, the following tools have been applied: Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS), Self Esteem Scale (SES), Sexual Satisfaction Scale for Women, Graphical Body Image Self-Evaluation Form, and the author’s tool – Personal Questionnaire containing questions on autoeroticism. The research outcomes did not confirm the formulated hypotheses. The differences between the groups of women engaged in autoerotic activities and the group of women not engaged in such activities proved to be of no statistical significance.
