Summary/Abstract: In the article some approaches to the study of intentionality in speech behavior areconsidered. The theory of speech acts, pragmalinguistic and functional interpretations of alanguage development are represented as actual and productive means. The concept ofintentionality in relation to communicative goals of speech activity, the grammaticalcategories, the relationship of semantic functions in grammatical forms with the intentions ofthe speaker is studied. Intentional structure of an utterance is a very complex phenomenon,closely related to the implementation of a number of features in a language and linguisticunits.
