Summary/Abstract: The best known fairy-tale writer was a traveler in many countries and an ardent travel-writer. In his book Bazaar of a Poet he describes his circular journey in 1840— 41 from Denmark, through Germany and Italy, then over the Mediterranean and Aegean Sea, through Greece to Constantinople, and then his return over the Black Sea, along the Danube all the way to Vienna and by land to Denmark. He traveled as a poet, ready to see everything, get to know and experience everything, and to expresses his impressions in his gracious way. He wrote about Serbia in a well informed manner and warmly.
