Summary/Abstract: This paper analyzes the poem „The Collapsing of the Serbian Empire” from Vuk Stefanović Karadžić’s anthology in the matrix of eschatological crisis. This is notify to Lazar through the system of heralds and the prophetic book - letter from Holy Mother, which they bring to him, all of which announce the end of the world. In the letter, which comes from Jerusalem, there are two ways Lazar could fight the Turks. One of this is to die protecting his country and overcome physical death and general devastation through the unity with God, which Lazar chooses. All of this is expressed in the story of demonic enemies, the Turks, and the fateful battle of Kosovo which turns into a metaphor of survival. This paper shows the means and the ways which are used to achieve it in the poem.
