IDENTITY OF THE CITY IN STEVAN SREMAC PROSE

Summary/Abstract: The experiment indicated the significant cities and region in which he lived and created Stevan Sremac (1855-1906). We extract: Senta, Nis and Belgrade as well as areas that have significantly influenced the literary and intellectual formation of the writer. We devote special attention to the definition of artistic topos, which established the city Sremčev hronotop pripovijednoj prose: the city’s restaurants, the city periphery, urban families, the city’s heroes, city stories, rural-urban opposition. In particular, it emphasized the two main topos that are in the meaning of the term hronotopa: artistic time and space, as well as the creative environment in which images are created Sremac city.
