Summary/Abstract: One of Vida Ognjenović’s poetic topos is confrontation between two epistemological concepts, Platonic and Aristotelian model of truth in fiction. The authoress examines the topos, taking into account the statements from Ognjenović’s essay „Mašta i činjenice“ in the drama „Je li bilo kneževe večere?“. By using Michael Riffaterre’s theory of interpretation and reception, she analyses, on one hand, the counterfeiting strategy of falsification of the truth of fiction and, on the other hand, the possibility of reaching an authentic sense of the text. The focus is intertextuality of poem „Kneževa večera“ through which the authoress illustrates the mechanisms for the relativization of the truth of fiction which are ideologically and politically motivated. The analysis of intertextuality, also, shows that the truth of the poem transcends its particular meaning and participates in the truth of the general. It is concluded that Vida Ognjenović discusses the Platonic model, favoring the figurative model of truth in fiction texts which is in line with Aristotelian epistemological thesis.
