AKATHIST TO THE HOLY APOSTLE SAINT STEPHEN BY ZOGRAPH LONGINUS (TEXT AND COMMENTS)

Summary/Abstract: Akathist to the Holy Apostle Saint Stephen by Zograph Longinus is one of the rare preserved autographs of old Serbian literature, which can be found in the manuscript no. 138 of the collection of the monastery Visoki Dečani. Besides the inscriptions inside the manuscript, the writer made two further variants of the first kontakion and the first oikos in addition to the original one, whereas the twelfth oikos also had a variant of the ending. The paper presents the photographs of the manuscript, an integral edition of the text and philological and textological comments. On the basis of a synthesis of the present information on paleographic, orthographic and linguistic and stylistics features of the monument, the paper offers possible solutions of some problematic issues and sheds light on the particularities of the autograph, which can be helpful in the further study of Longinus’ literary and scribe opus.
