Summary/Abstract: Divided self is a frequent theme in Andrić’s short stories, beginning with his first, The Journey of Alija Ðerzelez, to his last, The House on Its Own, posthumously published wreath of stories. Using the elements of narratological and psychoanalyticapproach, a certain narrative model is noticed that is used by Andrić’s in various forms. Andrić is regarded within a context of some of the greatest story-tellers in world literature.
