Summary/Abstract: The cultural situation in Russia under goes change obviously, as a result of political and social straits, thatare lived in the end of XX. Century and early part of XXI. century. During this time, one of the most important events, that has been lived, is taking part actively in literature of women writers. Literary works of these women writer’s, that come in to prominence like that, reflect the typical characteristics of contemporary Russian literature. In the light of this information, at this work characters, thatare in the stories of Lyudmila Ulitskaya’s, who is one of the most important writers of contemporary Russian literature, have named “Other’s Children” (Çujıye Deti), “Sonechka” and “Bronka”, will be examined in the context of gender. As a result of story analyzes by using the method of comparative analysis, it seems that Ulitskaya takes attention particularly to the female characters and their success in life. Through her stories stated above the writer attempted to solve the "gender system" of the Soviet era and enabled to observe clearlyt he effects of World War II on people at that time.
