Summary/Abstract: The constellation of characters in the three studied novel s by Troyanov, Dinev and Levicharov outline the macro - and micro- structure of the socialist society with its institutions, communities, individual groups and individuals and the associated socio-political, community, group, family, personal and intimate relationships. The wide range of interactions involve interpersonal relationships with in the core and extended family , professional and a social communities , which epitomize the main features of the socialist way of life - a strong ideological control of private and, in many cases, intimate life by the Party, establishment and public organizations. Between the officialdom and nomenclature on the one hand and the alternative (protest) behavior on the other, there are large masses of people who have adapted to the regime and live in constant fear for their social, professional, and even mental and physical survival.
