Summary/Abstract: Summary: The article aims to present some characteristics of descriptive texts created in a formal academic context. Several students’ compositions were analysed by means of macrooperations of Adam (1989, 2011), lexical fields, presence of quaestio and stylistic figures. The results seem to prove that description constitutes a type of text in an pedagogic, formative discourse regulated by specific norms.
