Summary/Abstract: We study the basic principles of political and legal status of head of state in context analysis categories of "form of government", "state institution" and " state power (authority)". It is proposed to the head of state as a special public institution. Investigates the basic characteristics of the institution head of state and their impact on state power, depending on the traditions of a society.
