Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to present the potential impact of the Economic Partnership Agreement EU-Japan (EPA) in area of tariff preferences, on Poland’s agri-food trade with Japan. The analysis was carried out on the basis of unpublished trade data of the Ministry of Finance, the EU and the Japan customs tariffs and preliminary version of the EPA. The research shows that the entry into force of the EPA may be a chance for Polish food producers to increase their exports to Japan. It may concern e.g. meat and meat products, chocolate products, vodka, and to a lesser extent also dairy products as well as preparations based on milk and cereals (many limitations in liberalization). The EPA will not be a threat for Polish food producers due to high cost of food production in Japan.
