Summary/Abstract: The dynamic reality of today’s world, the complexity of life situations, expectations, and requirementslead to a number of difficulties that young people and their carers face every day.Emerging problems can be analysed from a perspective of the individual’s specific qualities, experiences, and struggles, but also from wider psycho-educational perspectives. This article isan attempt to present the supporting role of educational coaching as a functional generatorof the individual’s potential. In the literature one can find the characteristics of coaching asthe art of encouraging people to make an effort to transform dreams into values and goals, andto strive for them consistently. The above assumptions lead to the conclusion that both thefamily and the school environment are naturally linked to this process. They are the basiccontexts in which the process of shaping values and attitudes takes place. The paper is also anattempt to approximate the assumptions and coaching methods, treating them as a useful toolin the daily work in education.
