Summary/Abstract: The text describes the relation between Jadwiga Janczewska and Henryk Sienkiewicz. The writer was corresponding with Janczewska for many years. At the beginning of this friendship he “imagined” his addressee – his letters appear more like an autobiography than an exchange of opinions. The following essay is about this relation.
