Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on the issue of interdependence of family and professional activity in the context of the life roles of a spouse, an employee, and a parent.These roles imply specific challenges and dilemmas, and the need to find a balance between them. These are important and current issues. Nowadays most Polish parentswork professionally, and young people declare the intention to combine professional and parental roles in the future. The main research problem is: What are the dilemmas faced by modern parents in balancing family and professional activity? The research methods used in the article include literature analysis, constructive criticism, the synthesis of conclusions and the review of relevant research reports. In conclusion, balancing of professional and family roles contributes to the person’s well-being, higher life satisfaction and the transfer of emotions between family and work. However, certain dilemmas related to family time and professional ambitions remain.
