Painting the Biography of Ljubomir Simović

Summary/Abstract: By analyzing the texts written by Lj. Simović, which are either directly or indirectly connected with painting, in the paper we tried to establish the principles of intermedial connections between the author and some painters, their specific achievements and genres in art. When intermedial quotations are concerned, we can see that they are referential and autoreferential, while the dominant type of quotations is a quotation dialogue. By investigating the creative opus of our poet in such a way we showed that the works of these artists correspond in multiple ways and that Simović’s poetic being is deeply rooted in the artistic tradition as well.
