Summary/Abstract: It was industrial development of the city that dictated the location of the parishes in Łódź. This development caused an influx of people seeking to Łódź the means to earn a living. This influx involved the development of the city. The new neighborhoods are far from the churches, pushing priests and worshipers to create new places of worship. New churches were built in the most populated neighborhoods. To the south of the city are the parishes of St. Stanislaus, the Transfiguration and St. Adalbert, to the east, those of Ste. Anne and St. Casimir, north of the Heart of Jesus and in the center of the city the parishes of St. Croix and St. Joseph. In this way, at the time of erecting the diocese of Łódź, this city already had 9 parishes, one old and 8 which were built in the period of its industrial development.
