Summary/Abstract: Russia is a country where the socio-pedagogical theory and practice are highly developed. The study presents historical and pedagogical conditions for the development of social pedagogy in this country. The study highlights the contributions of KD Ushinski, LN Tolstoy, DI Mendeleyev, NF Bunakov, NV Shtelgunov and others for the development of socio-pedagogical knowledge.
