An Overview of Automatic Text Summarization Techniques

Summary/Abstract: Due to the high availability of information on the Internet, retrieving information in the form of a summary will be used by a large number of users. The automatic text summarization system generates a summary, that is essentially a shorter text than the original, containing all the important information from the original document. A summary can be obtained using extraction and abstraction methods. This paper presents an overview of the latest extraction approaches to text summarization.
