Summary/Abstract: The development of information technology, increasing competition and most of all changing customers’ needs and expectations have made service companies start their operations on the Internet. In order to win customers and gain their loyalty, service companies have to offer higher value. Improving logistic operations within the framework of “last mile” is very important. The purpose of this article is to answer the question whether the express industry is able to support service companies operating in the virtual space within the process of delivering customers higher value services by improving the efficiency and effectiveness of their “last mile” logistics.
