Summary/Abstract: The article describes the history of mutual relations between German thinker Walter Benjamin and female representatives of his time, considered in the context of solving him the socio-philosophical problem of a woman’s place in the life of a man. Special attention in the article is paid to the specific circle of familiarity with women who had influenced the formation of Benjamin’s representations on this problem. Benjamin had found his own socio-philosophical answer to the question of relations between men and women, considered by him in historical prospect, which became an organic part of his versatile concept of a dia-lectic image.
