Summary/Abstract: The article shows the historic conditions of formation and the basic meaning of the notion “destructive nature” in the concept of Walter Benja-min, and the reflection of events and phenomena actual for the scientist. Much attention is paid to the formation of the European intelligentsia’s self-consciousness under the influence of the notion “destructive nature” in the end of the 20th century and to the formation of programs of practical actions
