Summary/Abstract: The paper is dedicated to the analysis of “The Task of the Translator” by Walter Benjamin, whose text is a translational and philosophical-aesthetic composition, in which through the problem of translation the issue of the essence of language is debated. Translation turns out to be that place in which not only the connection of two languages, but also the debate on the foreignness and cognateness of the languages in translation takes place.
