Summary/Abstract: The article attempts to examine the situation and the main problems associated with the usage of electronic commerce in SMEs. The three levels of Internet usage are analyzed – dissemination of information about products and services and search for opportunities for business contacts and mutually beneficial cooperation through the Web, work of e-commerce applications, electronic business and usage of the Web in the core business processes. In the second part data from a study on the state of the usage of Internet technologies are analyzed and specific approaches to the usage of the advantages that a Web presence provides to small and medium businesses are proposed. Special attention is paid to the strategic business advantages that the Web site can provide to small and medium enterprises. The appropriate technologies for B2B integration of enterprise information systems are presented.
