Summary/Abstract: The debates about Alavism constitute one of the most problematic areas of the Republican history. In the course of Republic period tensional structure of religion and state relations naturally reflects on the debates about Alavism. On the other hand in parallel with the developments on the fundamental rights and freedoms in recent years Alavi society took also opportunity to express its demands more easily. In this regard especially inclusion of the Alavism in religious culture and moral knowledge course can be interpreted as a significant development in terms of the fulfillment of their demands. But this situation at the same time makes religious culture and moral knowledge teacher’s qualification a current issue. In this study it will dealt with the perception of competency of religious culture and moral knowledge teachers about teaching of Alavism.
