Summary/Abstract: The issues of analysis in the paper are problems of perception and implementation of the CSR principles and motives that accompany the application of this idea in practice. The basis for analysis are the results of the conducted individual interviews among representatives of commercial enterprises in Poland, which are presented following the characteristics of the essence and principle of social responsibility at all its levels and the description of desired socially responsible actions undertaken by commercial enterprises. In the context of CSR principles, there are analysed, inter alia, problems of cooperation and partnership of market entities, their relations with various groups of stakeholders and positive impact on the environment. The cited opinions point out that despite great progress in implementation of the CSR ideas, commercial enterprises are still facing many challenges in this respect.
