Summary/Abstract: During the implementation of the EU economic strategy European 2020 and especially its priorities concerning employment and education, the author addresses the question of modern university’s role regarding the social and economical development of the society. These reflections are followed by issues related to universities supporting academic entrepreneurship and recommendations presented as a result of empirical research.
