Efficiency of Organizational Forms in a Realization of Public Tasks in Local Government

Summary/Abstract: The advantages and disadvantages of particular organizational and legal forms of running a municipal economy by local government units are difficult to clearly determine. The selection of the most favorable forms depends on the local situation and is an important element of the economic policy of local government authorities. The actions of local government authorities should focus on searching for solutions that will ensure the provision of communal services at the appropriate level, and will strengthen local enterprises without disturbing the balance on the market. The manner in which municipal business entities operate is very important, because through them, self--government authorities can have a positive influence on and shape local economic development.
