Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to try using the keyword method in studying old Polish. The presented analyses are based on the material from the Electronic Corpus of 17th and 18th century Polish texts (up to 1772) currently being compiled at the History of the Polish Language of the 17th and 18th Century Section at the Institute of the Polish Language of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The material has been divided into four periods (1. 1601–1650, 2. 1651–1700, 3. 1701–1750, 4. 1751–1772) and the results have been compared for political texts. The results have shown the effectiveness of method used. They have also shown a connection between the list of words and the texts selection and the necessity to constantly expand corpus sources for the Polish language across centuries
