Summary/Abstract: The contemporary tourism market is in a continuous process of structural change. This applies to changes in the structure of supply, as well as covers issues relating to trends in tourist demand tourist. In addition to the processes of supply and demand changes concern the role of the state on the tourism market, through institutional measures and instrumental related to the scope of the tourism policy. The output indicator of tourism policy is adopted the method, also referred to as model policy. The article presents a general theoretical assumptions tourism policy. Characterized models of tourism policy. It pointed to the practical recognition of the model tourism policy in Poland and the European Union, which is deregulation. It presents an in-depth deregulation as proposed model of the tourism policy. The aim of the study is to assess the current model of tourism policy in Poland against the background of solutions the European Union, together with an indication of its direction changes. Taken issues are diagnostic concept and scope of the methods used include: literature studies, logic operations, comparative analysis, heuristic methods. The results can be used for shaping tourism policy in Poland by the competent bodies: central, regional and local, in the long and short term.
