Summary/Abstract: Polish Americans are the most important group of Poles and people of Polish origin living outside of Poland. The number of Polish Americans in the United States of America amounts to approximately ten million people, of varying degrees of Polish descent and levels of identification with Polish ancestors, and with the Polish ethnic group in the USA. The most significant organization of Polish Americans is the Polish American Congress (PAC). The political activity of Polish Americans is based on shared values, the most significant of them being conservative ones: patriotism, anti-communism, democracy, strong law and religiousness. These values were decisive for Polish Americans’ attitudes towards various political challenges in present-day Poland, political parties in Poland, European integration and the expansion of NATO.
