Life Orientations of Girls with the Working-class Background

Summary/Abstract: In spring 2016, the female students of Basic vocational schools In Wałbrzych were asked toshare information about their dreams and goals for the future and their priorities in giving real shareto these goals and ideas. The research took into account the correlations between life orientations ofthe girls and the environment of their origin, in particular family environment. The research area wasdivided into two main parts, i.e. a part devoted to the personal life and a part concerning the sphere ofvocational education and orientation related to the planning of their professional future. The studyrevealed some dependencies between these two spheres and mutual influences.The article is an attempt to penetrate the environment of girls from basic vocational schools in selectedareas of their functioning. This action is aimed at learning the life orientation of these studentsand the way of its formation, i.e. as I assume, the impact of children’s dreams understood as pleasingand development of life goals.
