Summary/Abstract: In the paper we present the application of selected models of Item Response Theory to evaluate the ability of electronic negotiation system users to the adequate representation of preference information. Four IRT models are built: Rash, 1PL, 2PL and 3PL ones; to examine the distribution of the answers to the test items, which were coded indirectly as the elements of the process of defining preferences according to the requirements of SMART technique. Three parameters or IRT models were studied: item difficulty; discrimination and guessing.
