Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the managerial personnel of secondary education institutions — non-classical secondary schools (‘real’ schools) and gymnasiums in the town of Ivanovo-Voznesensk. The author analyzes special training and financial position of participants of this social and professional group, an experience of their work and marital status. Considered is the participation of these figures in formation of civil society elements in Russia at the beginning of the 20th century.
