Summary/Abstract: The research problem discussed in this paper is innovation in tourism, especially in health tourism. The main objective of the research is to propose a model of the innovation process, which is the most effective at introducing innovation in health tourism in Poland. The research methods used were quantitative and qualitative in character. The first stage of the research was conducted using the Delphi method. The next step was quantitative research on a sample of 461 providers of health tourism, which used questionnaire methods and standardized interview. The results, in the form of a distributed model of the innovation process in tourism fit into the gap in the innovation theory of the economic sciences. The results of this study should be used on the market, showing the most efficient process innovation, enabling the growth of innovative service providers in the field of health tourism.
