Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the author's concept of higher education role and the factors that influence its development in recent years. Analyzed the meaning of European academic TEMPUS program and the attitude higher education - business needs. Examines the remoteness of the Bulgarian University of the classical notion of university life and academic diligence. Described are the opportunities for partnership between universities and businesses to collaborate on training and retraining of employees.
