CHRISTIANITY – A GIFT FOR EUROPE

Summary/Abstract: From the start, I would like to emphasize the fact that, at the moment, in the European laic culture there is no viable alternative equivalent to the great themes proposed by religion, more exactly by Christianity. Until recently, in the philosophical circles, there were discussions about the thesis of reviving religion, but philosophy experimented on itself the impossibility of providing some viable answers to the problems of our contemporary society. Besides Christianity, no other science, belonging to the laic scope, is able to offer the contemporary man a satisfying answer, meant to pull him out from the existential alienation that he is in. This is possible because Christianity addresses both the body and the spirit as well.
