The Divine Eucharist in the Theology of Saint Gregory Palamas

Summary/Abstract: The Eucharist is the centre of the Christian life and the perfect Sacrament of the Church. All the other Sacraments and prayers are existentially connected to this Sacrament. This was well known to the early church and the holy fathers. As of the most important theologian of the orthodox hesychasm, Grigorie Palama fully understood the role of The Eucharist on the road to glorify God. Basically The Eucharist is the basis and also the best way to live an authentic christian life and to praise and glorify our Lord. Saint Grigorie Palama understood that prayer, no matt er how immaculate, is not enough to see the Divine Light if the believer is not close to our Saviour Jesus Christ through The Eucharist.
