Summary/Abstract: The article reviews the creative biography of Lasar Segall, an alumni of Mark Antokolski Industrial Arts School of Vilnius. My article analyzes the development of Antokolski’s artistic style and contribution to the l’école de Paris. The article surveys the main periods of Segall’s life and work in France, Germany, and Brazil. It pays much attention to the influence of Lithuanian Litvak cultural traditions on the artist's style and system of images as they are oriented towards humanism and exoticism.
