Summary/Abstract: The right to nourishment, actually a right to food security, is a human right included in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights from 1948 and reiterated on various occasions, for example at the World Conference on Nutrition in1974 and the World Summit on Food in 1996. Food security exists when people have access to safe, nutritious and convenient food, representing the basis for leading healthy and active lives. Unfortunately, conflicts, crises, climate change etc. are among the risks and threats to food security. Starting from these reference points, the present paper aims to present relevant aspects of Information System on Food Security, a system designed to help manage risks and threats regarding food security in Romania.
