Summary/Abstract: In a period of evidently increased tension and conflict on a global scale, cooperation and dialogue not only between economical and monetary partners, but especially between differing cultures, religions, and political systems should be regarded as an ethical and normative imperative. I do believe that ethical and/or normative approaches are crucial for developing new and deepening existing modes of cooperation between dissimilar cultures and religions, because these dissimilarities are predominantly ethical and normative in origin. In order to arrive at those ethical and/or normative imperatives, it seems to me that phenomenological observations on the subject matter are crucial.
